How catch-up bookkeeping works

  1. A free catch-up call

Tell me how far behind you are. No need to tidy up first.

  2. Send what you have

Your statements and QuickBooks access. I do the rest.

  3. You're caught up

Reconciled books and reports you can hand your tax preparer.

No judgment. No need to tidy up first. Nothing starts until you say yes.

Clean books don't need a big firm

I know how it goes: the jobs come first and the books slide. Opening them again is the hardest part.

I'm QuickBooks certified, with about 8 years as a full-time accountant. I keep my client list small.

Catch-up bookkeeping questions

How far behind is too far?

I can catch up books as far back as 18 months. Anything further is reviewed case by case: two years behind can still work if your books are simple, say one or two bank accounts, a credit card and fewer than 50 transactions a month. Either way, don't let the number of months stop you from asking.

Being more than a year behind can also affect prior-year taxes, so take any prior-year tax questions to your CPA or tax professional.

What does catch-up cost?

It's a fixed quote. Catch-up typically runs between $400 and $3,000, depending on how complex your books are and how many transactions are involved.

The first call is free, and you'll get your final quote after I've reviewed your books thoroughly, before you say yes.

Do you do taxes?

No. I'm a bookkeeper, not a tax preparer or CPA, so I don't file returns or give tax advice.

I work alongside your own tax preparer. I'll give you your reconciled books and reports, and you hand them to your preparer.

I don't issue 1099s. I track your 1099 vendors in QuickBooks, and issuing any 1099s stays with you.
